Greg’s Passion Is Drag Racing

His sister Susan Gay wrote, "My dad, Gilbert Gay bought the 1971 Road Runner and raced it for six and a half years before letting Gregory take it over. It all started when Greg was 16 years old driving the 1971 Road Runner that my dad owned. In 1992 he bought the 1969 Super Bee and went on to win the IHRA national event in 1998 and 2008, and the NHRA national event in 1999. In 1999 Greg purchased the 1980 Mirada, he has won Class in 6 of the 7 Classes it fits in, and set the National Record in all 7 Classes."

When asked about his thoughts regarding B-D-R, Greg replied, "There are days when running a trucking company presents a lot of challenges, but I know that the success of B-D-R has allowed me to accomplish more than I ever thought possible. Also, it is the great team of people at B-D-R, both in and outside of the trucks, that lets me leave for short periods of time and know that our operations are in good hands."

"I ran the Road Runner for three seasons, before parking it for six years to attend College and then save up enough money to race it again. In 1986, I won the Heavy Eliminator Championship at New England Dragway, and was also awarded the Competitor of the Year Award for amassing more points than anyone else in any other class," Greg recalled.
